Writing and reading poetry gives wings to the imagination. It turns mundane thoughts into something with a greater sense, something with a life on its own. The rhythm of poetry resonates not only with the mind, but with the soul, too.
While stories can serve the same poetic kind of abstraction, stories can bring you on a different journey. They allow a different level of descriptiveness, they allow the presence of action, they require action in order to go vivid.
